Shortly after delivering his keynote speech at the ongoing Rivers State Economic and Investment Summit on Thursday, the reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, hurriedly left Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
News Central reported Sanusi’s reinstatement as Emir of Kano while he was delivering his speech at the summit. Security around the traditional ruler was significantly increased as he exited the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, making it impossible for journalists to speak with him.
Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara congratulated Sanusi II on his reinstatement as the 14th Emir of Kano. In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed great excitement over the news, especially since Sanusi II was in the state to support the administration’s initiative to reshape its economic trajectory.
The governor noted that Sanusi’s reinstatement by the Kano State government demonstrated that his dethronement on March 9, 2020, was against the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kano State. He commended the Kano State government for correcting past wrongs and urged the people to support Sanusi II.
Fubara wished the 14th Emir of Kano a successful and fruitful reign that would bring progress and prosperity to the people of Kano State.
