Burkina Faso’s Ex President Released From Detention (News Central TV)

The Military Government of Burkina Faso has announced that ousted President Roch Kaboré has been permitted to return to his home in Ouagadougou.

Kaboré has been detained in a ministerial home in the capital since January, when he was deposed in a coup headed by Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Damiba, who is now the President.

His party confirmed to reporters that he has been freed, without giving further details. The announcement of his release comes after weeks of consultations. It also comes in response to international calls for his release. The administration went on to say that precautions were being made to keep him safe.
