Police in Kaduna State have uncovered an illegal operation producing adulterated soybean oil following a tip-off from an intelligence report. Officers from the State Intelligence Department (SID) of the Kaduna State Police Command acted swiftly to raid the facility, which was operating clandestinely along Mamadi Road in the Maraban Jos area.
In a statement made available to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the discovery and revealed that three suspects were arrested during the operation. The individuals, identified as Zailani Shuaibu (33), who is alleged to be the owner of the illegal factory, along with Nasiru Usman (24) and Salisu Usman (49), are all residents of Maraban Jos.

The factory was found on a fenced plot of land and was equipped with various tools and substances used in the production of fake soybean oil. Recovered from the scene were two drums of croops, believed to be raw materials, fifteen 25-litre jerry cans containing unfinished products, two 25-litre jerry cans of the completed adulterated oil, and one empty drum used for local processing.
The operation highlights ongoing concerns over food safety and the illicit production of consumables in the state. Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the necessary procedures.
