Kane Ends Goal Drought with Hat-Trick as Bayern Reclaim Top Spot

Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, hailed Harry Kane as a “killer” after the striker’s 23-minute hat-trick led the team to a 4-0 victory against Stuttgart at home on Saturday. The win ended Bayern’s three-game winless streak across all competitions and allowed them to reclaim the Bundesliga top spot on goal difference, overtaking RB Leipzig, who had earlier won 2-0 at Mainz.

The match remained goalless until the 57th minute, when Kane opened the scoring with a powerful long-range strike. The England captain, who had not scored in his last four matches for club and country—his longest drought since joining Bayern—netted two more to complete his sixth Bundesliga hat-trick, bringing his tally to 57 goals for the club in all competitions.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Kane acknowledged the pressure that comes with a goal drought but expressed confidence in his ability and his teammates.

The 31-year-old striker, who took home the match ball, jokingly commented that his teammates were probably a bit tired of signing them due to his frequent hat-tricks.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was unfazed by Kane’s recent drought, stating that he never worried about whether Kane would score or not.

Bayern now turn their attention to their midweek Champions League clash against Barcelona, where they will face their former coach, Hansi Flick. Kompany said, “We can enjoy this win briefly, but we have to stay focused with Barcelona coming up.”
