Kano Begins Distribution of 6,500 Free JAMB Forms

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has commenced the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 6,500 secondary school students from the state.

Governor Yusuf in a statement signed by his Spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Monday, said he was committed to investing in the future of the state’s children by enhancing access to higher education opportunities.

“We believe that education is a bedrock of development and by empowering our students, our children would have access to quality education, we are laying the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for our dear state Kano,” he remarked.

The statement also quoted the Governor saying:

”As we distribute free JAMB forms today to 6,500 Kano State indigenes, let me assure that the gesture is a symbol of our government’s unwavering commitment to invest in the future of our children.”

The governor also pointed out his administration’s accomplishments in the education sector during the past ten months, including the reintroduction of foreign scholarships, covering registration fees for Kano indigenes at Bayero University Kano, reopening 21 Skills Acquisition institutes, and reducing registration fees by 50 percent in state-owned tertiary institutions.

He further cited initiatives such as Cash Conditional Transfer to Support Girls-Child education and settling registration fees for NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS exams that have been implemented.

Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the State Ministry of Education’s management and staff, and all stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the distribution exercise.

He urged beneficiaries to seize the opportunity and strive for academic excellence, emphasising that success comes to those who diligently pursue their dreams and aspirations.
