Kano Government Backing Abuja Protests Against Me –Ganduje

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has accused the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) led Kano State government of orchestrating protests against him in Abuja.

Ganduje in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Assistant on Civil Society and Support Groups, alleged that the state government, under the leadership of Abba Kabir Yusuf was using state resources to hire protesters to demand his resignation as APC national chairman.

The statement partly reads:

“We are privy to credible information that Governor Yusuf is working with some persons from the North Central zone and has doled out huge sum of money to some persons to sustain campaign against the Ganduje’s led working committee in his desperate but fruitless mission to remove Ganduje as the national chairman of the APC.

“They have now resorted to using some persons in the North Central geo-political zone to demand Ganduje’s removal after they failed woefully to achieve their satanic agenda in Kano State. What is of concern to us is the wastage of state resources badly in need in Kano State for the provision of basic amenities to our people. This is politics taken too far.”

The APC leader urged security agents to stay vigilant for the safety of lives and property. He criticised the protesters for wearing Kwankwasiyya attire while claiming to be APC members, calling it a dangerous tactic to disrupt party peace.

Kano State Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa is yet to respond on the matter. However, he had previously stated that the NNPP and the governor were not involved in external political matters.
