Kano Pillars Appeals to NPFL for Reconsideration of Fine

The management of Kano Pillars FC has submitted an appeal to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Disciplinary Committee, urging a reconsideration of the N12 million fine imposed on the team. The fine was imposed due to alleged misconduct during a match where thugs interrupted the live broadcast and threw objects onto the pitch in protest of a decision by match officials.

In a statement issued by the club’s secretary, Sani Ibrahim, Kano Pillars condemned the incident and called for a calm and composed approach to addressing the matter. The club emphasised the need for the committee to be impartial and consider the complexities of the issue, acknowledging that human errors can occur.

The statement highlighted the efforts of the club’s supporters in promoting sportsmanship during matches and expressed disappointment in the actions of a few individuals causing trouble. The management of Kano Pillars noted that such incidents negatively affect the team’s performance in the ongoing league.

The club promised additional steps to be taken collectively by the leadership of the Fans Club to ensure the team maintains its prestigious position among other clubs in the country. The management also sought forgiveness for the conduct of a few individuals who posed as supporters to perpetrate the disruptive act.
