Some angry youths took to the streets of Kano on Tuesday to protest the court ruling that ordered the eviction of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, from the Nasarawa Palace located on State Road.
Justice Amina Aliyu of the High Court ruled on Monday that the Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel evict the deposed Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero from the mini-palace in the Nasarawa area of the Kano metropolis.
The court also issued an interim injunction preventing the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, from parading himself as such.
However, youths shut down some streets of the city on Tuesday. One protester said, “Those who were in support of the reinstated Emir were doing so for their selfish interests and were not interested in seeing the state move forward.”
Police officers have, however, intervened to bring the situation under control as tension continues to grip the city following the reinstatement of former Emir Lamido Sanusi by Governor Abba Yusuf.
