Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has launched a N400 million community revolving fund aimed at boosting agricultural production and promoting sustainable development.
The governor unveiled the initiative on Thursday, presenting cheques to beneficiaries in the state.
The fund is designed to tackle poverty and enhance community development by providing capital for agricultural projects, improving food security, and expanding economic opportunities.
Governor Yusuf emphasised that the fund is part of broader efforts to drive economic growth in Kano State.
He also highlighted the government’s environmental sustainability efforts, noting the planting of over three million trees to combat desertification.

“The CRF initiative is another pillar in ACReSAL’s broader strategy to ensure that our people, especially our farmers and agro-allied businesses, are equipped to thrive,” said Yusuf.
In addition to the fund, the programme supports 30 registered Community Interest Groups (CIGs) and farmers’ cooperatives with direct financial assistance, enabling them to invest in climate-smart agriculture and build resilience against environmental challenges.
The funds will support communities in areas such as Chiranchi, Diso, Kofar-Naisa, and others, providing N25,000 per community to promote agricultural development and climate adaptation strategies.
