American rapper and fashion designer Kanye West, now known as Ye, is facing a lawsuit from his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, who accuses him of sexual harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
Pisciotta alleges that West sent her explicit texts and performed sex acts while on the phone with her. She claims she was fired in 2022 without receiving a promised $3 million severance package.
According to the lawsuit which details Pisciotta’s allegations, she met West in 2021 while supporting herself via OnlyFans and was hired to work on his Yeezy women’s fashion line and his “Donda” album.
Later, she became his personal assistant with a $1 million annual salary under the condition of 24/7 availability.
Pisciotta claims West initially accepted her OnlyFans business but later demanded she delete her account for an additional $1 million.
After complying, Pisciotta says West bombarded her with pornographic texts and engaged in inappropriate conduct, including masturbating during phone calls and in front of her on his plane.
She was promoted to Chief of Staff in September 2022 but was soon fired without her severance package.
Pisciotta is suing for sexual harassment, breach of contract, wrongful termination, fraud, unpaid wages, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Kanye West has previously faced similar accusations, including showing pornographic films during staff meetings and displaying an intimate photo of his then-wife Kim Kardashian during job interviews. He has not responded to these allegations and has maintained silence on the matter.
West has admitted to a longstanding pornography addiction, which he claims began in childhood and has influenced many of his life choices.
He has also faced two other lawsuits this year: one for racial discrimination and harassment and another for using a Donna Summer song sample without permission, which was settled out of court.
Despite his prolific career in the 2000s and 2010s, West’s recent years have been marked by controversy, including the termination of his contract with Adidas over antisemitic comments. Nonetheless, he topped the US charts earlier this year with the single “Carnival” and the album “Vultures”.
