Kebbi Waives Optic Fibre Deployment Fees to Boost Telecoms

The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, has signed an executive order waiving all statutory fees for the deployment of optic fibre cables across the state.

This waiver applies to all telecommunications companies operating in Nigeria.

The announcement was made by the Director General of the Kebbi State Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), Dr Kabiru Muhammad Kamba, during a visit to the General Manager of Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.

The visit aimed to strengthen partnerships with the aviation sector.

Dr Kamba highlighted that telecommunications companies, including MTN, Airtel, and Glo, can now deploy optic fibre cables across all 21 local government areas of Kebbi State without incurring fees. This decision is expected to boost connectivity and promote investment opportunities across the state.
