An entire five-storey building has collapsed in Ruiru town, which is located in Kenya’s Kiambu County after 200 persons had been evacuated.
On Sunday afternoon, fractures were spotted in the building’s pillars, prompting the evacuation of several residents.
Kiambu governor Kimani Wamatangi and the firemen led the rescue efforts after getting warnings about the hazard on Sunday from the National Construction Authority (NCA) and the Ruiru OCPD.
Two buildings in the city of Kiambu collapsed a week ago. On November 17, another five-storey building collapsed in the town of Ruaka in Kiambu County.
As a result of the structure collapsing on top of the neighbuor’s house, two people lost their lives.
