Kenyan Deputy President, William Ruto has vowed to bring down the cost of living in 100 days in the country if he becomes President.
The Kenyan Kwanza candidate has been Deputy President for about a decade and worked closely together until they had some friction in their relationship.
Ruto unveiled his manifesto on Thursday ahead of the August 9th Presidential election and will face Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja. Odinga is a regular name on the ballot in Kenya and has vied to be President at least five times. He was Prime Minister at some point in the country.
The Kenya Kwanza candidate, Ruto hammered on agriculture as a means of sustainability in the East African giant nation.
“The challenge of high cost of living can be dealt with by investing in agriculture, period. Explanations about Ukraine, I don’t know what, are tall tales,” he said.
His remarks were however opposite what he had on his manifesto which stated the Ukraine war as an economic problem.
