Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has sacked Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa. Amina Mohammed, who has been the Education minister has been named as his replacement in Uhuru’s latest cabinet reshuffle.

A statement from State House read, “In accordance with Article 152(5) of the Constitution, as read together with Article 152(1)(d) of the Constitution, the appointment of Mr. Rashid Echesa Mohamed, as a Cabinet Secretary has been vacated,” Echesa lasted only one year and nine months on the job before he was fired. His appointment was shrouded with controversy after it emerged that he was a class seven drop-out during the vetting by Parliament
