Kenyan science teacher, Rose Tata Wekesa, has made headlines for her attempt to break the world record for the longest non-stop science lesson.
The classroom at St. Austin’s Academy in Nairobi erupted into cheers as the clock hit the 50-hour mark, but Ms. Wekesa decided to continue beyond the target. The record will now undergo verification by Guinness World Records.
Wekesa, who teaches biology and chemistry, expressed her motivation for the challenge last month, stating her desire to showcase the fascinating and achievable aspects of science. She aims to inspire young students by demonstrating that teachers can achieve remarkable feats beyond conventional classroom activities.
The ongoing attempt is being livestreamed from the Multimedia University in Kenya, where Wekesa has garnered support and attention for her extraordinary endeavour.
