Kenya’s Deputy President Ruto Accuses Uhuru Kenyatta of Betrayal

Kenya’s Deputy President, William Ruto has accused the President of the country, Uhuru Kenyatta of betraying the people that stood by him during tough times.

Ruto, who is also vying for Kenyan Presidency has been on a collision course with his boss over their different ideologies and issues, not publicly revealed.

Kenyatta has endorsed his agelong rival and new friend, Raila Odinga for the Presidency with Ruto feeling hard done by the President’s decision.

Ruto also accused Kenyatta of treating the elder politicians who stood by him during his trial at The Hague badly.

At the Thika Stadium in Kiambu during a rally, the Deputy President said;

“I walked with you when you needed a brother by your side. For four and a half years, you have caused us untold suffering. You have hounded us, dropped our allies from parliamentary committees and called us names including thieves. You have overseen the downfall of Jubilee,” he said.

“My friend, it is us who walked with you across the whole country. We stood with you and prayed together so that The Hague cases could go away. Now, you’ve turned against us and labeled us your enemies. It is okay,”

Ruto further asked Kenyatta to respect the church after the President criticised church leaders who took money from Ruto.

“The same leaders you are now calling names are those that prayed for you during your Hague trials. At least have some respect for them my brother,” Ruto added.
