Two weeks after taking oath of office as  Kenya’s fifth head of state, President William Ruto on Tuesday unveiled his Cabinet members.

Kenya’s President William Ruto on Tuesday unveiled his new Cabinet on Tuesday, two weeks after he was sworn in as Kenya’s fifth head of state.

At a press conference, Ruto stated that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will, in addition to deputising him, chair intergovernmental relations and chair constitutional commissions.

Some of the persons named actively supported his presidential election bid and were instrumental in his win.

The list included former vice president Musalia Mudavadi who was named the prime cabinet secretary, former Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua and former Speaker of the National Assembly and DP leader Justin Muturi among others.

In the cabinet list, Ruto named seven women, and four MPs who will have to resign from their current positions.

They include Garissa Town MP Adan Duale, Alice Wahome (Kandara), Kipchuma Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet Senator) and Sopian Tuya (nominated).

    Prof Njuguna Ndungu- Treasury

    Aden Duale- Defence

    Aisha Jumwa- Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action

    Alice Wahome – Water and Sanitation,

    Dr Alfred Mutua- Foreign and Diaspora Affairs

    Moses Kuria- Trade

    Rebecca Miano- East African Community, Arid and Semi arida lands

    Kipchumba Murkomen- Roads, Transport and Public Works

    Sopian Tuya- Environment and Forestry

    Zachariah Mwangi Njeru- Lands

    Peninah Malonza- Tourism

    Mithika Linturi- Agriculture and Livestock

    Susan Nakhumicha- Health

    Eliud Owalo- ICT

    Ezekiel Machogu- Education

    Davis Chirchir- Energy

    Ababu Namwamba- Sports and Youth Affairs

    Simon Chelugui- Co-operatives and SMEs

    Salim Mvurya- Mining

    Florence Bore- Labour
