Perry wrote the script for Six Triple Eight, based on an article from WWII History magazine by Kevin M. Hymel. The film tells the inspiring true story of the only all-Black, all-female World War II battalion made up of 855 black women that were proven to be vital to the American war effort.
Starring alongside Washington and Winfrey is a cast, which includes Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Sarah Jeffery, Jay Reeves along with Dean Norris. However, Washington will also executive produce the film with Perry.

Netflix officially announced the movie in December after Tyler Perry teased it. It’s unclear when the film will be released, but production is currently in the works.
