President Bola Tinubu has stated that no ransom will be paid for the release of the children kidnapped from Kuriga town in Kaduna State.

The President made this statement today during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, briefed State House Correspondents after the FEC meeting, saying President Tinubu also restated his directive to the defence to ensure that the children are recovered and securely returned to their homes.

He also stated that the President has spoken out against paying ransoms to kidnappers, and that the current administration is committed to combating abduction and other criminal activities in the country.

According to him, the current government will not allow kidnapping, particularly mass abduction.

Bandits kidnapped at least 60 people in Buba village, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Tuesday.

The new Kajuru raid came just five days after bandits invaded the Kuriga hamlet in the state’s Chikun Local Government Area and kidnapped 287 kids from the local LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School.
