Justin Kluivert made Premier League history with a hat-trick of penalties as Bournemouth triumphed 4-2 over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday. Meanwhile, Kevin Schade’s hat-trick powered Brentford to a commanding 4-1 win over Leicester City, dampening Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first outing as the Foxes’ new manager.
Kluivert’s three successful spot-kicks marked the first penalty hat-trick in Premier League history. The Dutchman opened the scoring, and though Wolves equalised through Jorgen Strand Larsen, Bournemouth regained the lead with Milos Kerkez’s goal.
Kluivert struck twice more in the second half after Evanilson won a record three penalties for the visitors. Larsen added a late goal for Wolves, but the defeat dropped Gary O’Neil’s side back into the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Brentford extended their unbeaten home run with a sixth win in seven league matches, defeating Leicester 4-1. Leicester’s Facundo Buonanotte scored early, but Yoane Wissa equalised before Kevin Schade took over.
The German netted twice in quick succession to give Brentford a halftime lead and completed his treble late on, underlining the challenges facing Van Nistelrooy ahead of Leicester’s midweek clash with West Ham.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chris Wood’s decisive penalty lifted Nottingham Forest into the top six and left Ipswich in the bottom three.
In another match, Marc Guehi’s own goal put Newcastle ahead, but Daniel Muñoz salvaged a 94th-minute equaliser for Palace, nudging them out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
In Sunday’s key fixtures, runaway leaders Liverpool host Manchester City, aiming to extend their eight-point lead over the reigning champions. Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will also seek his first Premier League win when Everton visit Old Trafford.
