Kogi APC Guber Candidate, Ododo Visits Lagos State’s Governor

Usman Ododo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Kogi, visited Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday as a courtesy.

The candidate and his entourage met with the Kogi community in Lagos as part of planned discussions ahead of the state’s governorship election in November.

During the visit, Sanwo-Olu and Ododo had a private meeting where they discussed winning the governorship election on November 11.

Following the meeting, the governor addressed the group, assuring them that Kogi State will be won over by the entire APC family, and expressed his gratitude for the visit. 

On the entourage of the APC governorship candidate were Abdullahi Bello, the state party chairman; Deedat Ozigi, the delegation’s leader; Bashir Gegu; Kingsley Fanwo, the commissioner for information and communications; Jibrin Momoh, the former state comptroller general; Asiru Idris, the former commissioner for finance; and Prince Shuaibu Audu, a candidate in the state’s primary election.

Others included were the incoming members of the House of Representatives for the federal districts of Ajaokuta, Lokoja/Koto, and Okene/Ogori, as well as Bashir Audu, Usman Musa, Usman Ogbo, and the state assembly’s deputy speaker.


The Kogi community in Lagos showed up in large numbers to greet the APC candidate and give him their support for the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the stakeholders’ event, Mrs. Raliat Oyetunde, a former banker, said Kogi was crucial to the country’s well-being, which is why it was important to maintain Governor Yahaya Bello’s great accomplishments.

“Many of us here are registered back home and many more will transfer our cards back to Kogi to ensure your victory. Kogi is bordered by 10 other states and it is the gateway to the North and South.

“We cannot afford to hand the state to someone who doesn’t understand the dynamics of governance. We will support you to win in November,” she assured.

In response, Ododo asked all Kogites domestically and internationally to support him as “the candidate of unity,” assuring the populace that he will build on Governor Bello’s accomplishments.
