A High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, has dismissed Ahmed Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, from his position.
Justice Salisu Umar, the presiding judge of High Court 6, Lokoja, issued an order on Monday ordering the monarch to cease claiming to be the supreme traditional ruler of Ebiraland.
Details of the ruling have not yet been made public by the court, but it was gathered that it concerns case number HCO/05C/2024, which was brought by Dr Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two other individuals against Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State.

The attempt to obtain the Certified True Copy of the decision was unsuccessful since, at the time of publication, no court official was present to deliver it.
A text message was sent to Ismail Isah, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, but he did not reply.
Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information, also failed to return his calls or reply to his texts.
