Russia has stated that the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine was the best contribution to achieving peace in the ongoing conflict.
The pause in aid, which came after a public dispute between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, was announced on Monday and has already taken effect, halting the delivery of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of weaponry that were set to be sent to Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented that if the US were to halt its military support entirely, it could serve as the best contribution to peace. He argued that this shift would push the Kyiv regime to a peace process, suggesting it could prompt Ukraine to reconsider its stance on the conflict.
Peskov also noted that the situation on the ground would determine the next steps, underlining that the US has been Ukraine’s primary military supplier since Russia’s invasion began in February 2023. The suspension of aid represents a significant shift in the geopolitical dynamics surrounding the war.
