Kuwait’s Defense Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah has arrived in Cairo for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening military and security cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt, state media reported on Saturday.
According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Fahd will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday. His visit will also include talks with Egypt’s Defense Minister Abdel Majid Saqr and Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik.
Kuwait’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ghanem Al-Ghanem, emphasized the importance of the visit, describing it as part of the “deep-rooted and historical fraternal ties” between the two nations.

“The strong relations between Kuwait and Egypt are characterized by close coordination and cooperation at all levels,” Al-Ghanem stated. He reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to enhancing these bonds through military and security collaboration.
Sheikh Fahd’s trip to Egypt is part of a broader Middle East tour, which also includes stops in Jordan and Oman. The visit underscores Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen regional security alliances amid ongoing geopolitical challenges in the region.
Egypt and Kuwait have maintained close diplomatic and military ties for decades. In November 2024, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty visited Kuwait, where he held talks with Sheikh Fahd and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. During the meetings, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation with Kuwait.
The latest high-level engagements between Cairo and Kuwait City signal a continued push for regional stability and security collaboration, reinforcing their longstanding partnership.
