Ahead of the upcoming 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt, Ghanaian midfielder Agyemang Badu says he is not in coach Kwesi Appiah’s plans after recovering from a long-term injury.

Badu, recently returned to action with his Italian club side, Udinese in their 2-0 win over Genoa in the Italian Serie A and is uncertain about his return to the Black Stars setup despite being one of the most experienced Ghanaian players in Europe.

Badu last played for the Black Stars in 2017 when he featured in an AFCON game against Burkina Faso.

“So am back, and want to help my Club, we are really not in a good position so I want to help them finish in a respectable position with the few matches left.” Badu said.

“I must be honest to myself, I know am not in the plans of the Coach (Kwesi Appiah). Not when I just returned from training, even when I was playing actively I wasn’t in his plans. So personally I don’t think am in his plans for now.”

Badu has played 76 times for the Black Stars and scored 11 goals.
