French soccer player Kylian Mbappé was seen in a training session with his club, Real Madrid, on Tuesday as he returned to work after taking a break to recover from an injury.
The football star’s training comes in the midst of reports from Swedish media that he is being investigated for an alleged rape in Stockholm following his recent visit to the city.
According to Swedish broadcaster SVT, Mbappé is ‘reasonably suspected’ of rape, referencing documents it has seen.
Authorities confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation into an alleged rape at a hotel in the city but they are yet to disclose the identity of the suspect.
Mbappé has refuted the Swedish report, tagging it as ‘fake news‘ with his representatives labelling them as ‘totally false and irresponsible’.
The Real Madrid player, in a post on social media, linked the reports to a legal proceeding in the French capital on Tuesday involving a dispute between his former club, Paris Saint Germain, over unpaid wages.
Later on Tuesday, Mbappé’s lawyer said the 25-year-old was shocked by the reports, stating that a complaint does not establish the truth as it does not prove anything.
She also mentioned that she was uncertain whether the complaint filed in Sweden was connected to Mbappépé or not.
