Presidential candidate of Nigeria’s Labour Party, Peter Obi is currently addressing a press conference in Abuja today (Thursday) regarding the conduct of the presidential polls.
Obi raised concerns about the transparency and fairness of the electoral process in the just concluded 2023 polls in Nigeria.
Several observers have cited instances of electoral malpractice, including voter suppression, and violence, which has undermined the credibility of the electoral process.
Candidates and political parties often challenge election results in court, alleging irregularities and seeking to have the results upturned or nullified.
He said, “We will explore all the legal and peaceful means to reclaim our mandate. We won the election. Datti and I are committed to the mandate of Nigerians.”
However, any such legal challenge would be subject to the legal procedures outlined by the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Nigerian judiciary.
