The Lagos State government says it is deploying men and resources to combat the floods plaguing several parts of the metropolis due to the torrential rains over the last few days.
On Wednesday, the state’s Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said most of the floods were caused by the current high tidal lagoon level coupled with torrential rain.
He assured that as soon as the lagoon’s high tidal wave declines, the flood will have an avenue to recede into the lagoon.
He assured that the severe incident at the foot of the Third Mainland Bridge at Olopomeji had been cleared, and motorists were now free to move. He added that men were also on the ground to clear any drainge to allow the free flow of water.
