An explosion occurred on Friday inside a CCTV camera dealer’s shop on Kodesho Street, near Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.

Following the incident, the scene and surrounding areas were promptly secured and cordoned off by operatives from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the Lagos State Police Command.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the explosion in a statement on Friday.

He explained that teams from the Mobile Police and Conventional Police had been deployed to the area, while EOD experts conducted a sweep of the scene to ensure the safety of residents and to facilitate a thorough investigation into the cause of the explosion.
