The Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the Sunday market, popularly known as Ounjè Eko, slashes the prices of food items by 25%.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya in a press briefing on Wednesday.
Olusanya said the content will be sold at prevailing market prices with a 25% discount applied.
The discount would be based on the prevailing market rate in each axis of the state. For instance, if 5 kilos of Garri sell for N5,000 in Mile 12, the discounted price would be N3,750.
Similarly, she said the same product sells for N4,000 in Ajah, the discounted price would be N3,000.
Olusanya noted that she will not give a general price as it is the prevailing market rate with the discount applied.
