Nigeria will host its first-ever International Airshow in Lagos in the first quarter of 2025, an initiative led by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo.
Announcing the event at a press briefing in Abuja, Keyamo emphasised the significance of this airshow for Nigeria’s aviation sector and its impact on global networking.
The airshow will feature major industry players, including Boeing and Airboss, who will exhibit products and services, positioning Nigeria as a hub for aviation innovation in Africa. Keyamo highlighted that the event would support local operators and showcase Nigeria’s potential as an African transit centre.
The airshow aligns with Nigeria’s commitment to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), fostering seamless intra-African trade and unrestricted air movement across the continent.
The three-day event will also contribute to Nigeria’s broader economic goals under President Tinubu’s vision for a $1 trillion economy through job creation and infrastructure development.
Miss Brian Okonkwo, CEO of Nigeria International Airshow Limited, expressed appreciation for the minister’s support, describing aviation as the gateway to any country and noting the event’s potential to enhance Nigeria’s visibility in global aviation.
