Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, launched the Advertising Offenses Tribunal on Thursday in Abuja and tasked the tribunal’s members with carrying out their mandate meticulously to advance moral standards and professionalism in the advertising business.

In order to maintain equality, transparency, fairness, and impartiality in all disputes and offences committed or allegedly committed under the Act, the tribunal, which is presided over by Justice Cecilia Olatoregun, was founded. Mr. Charles Odenigbo, Mr. Moroof Aileru, Ms. Julia Oku Jack, Alhaji Bello Kankarofi, and Mr. Idorenyen Enang are the other four tribunal members.

According to Lai Mohammed, the Federal Government’s desire to strengthen the role and authority of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) for the effective regulation of advertising, advertisement, and marketing communication in Nigeria is based on the knowledge that the country’s advertising sector has a significant opportunity to impact the country’s economic development.

As a result, Mohammed said, the government decided to appoint the deserving individuals and inaugurate them.
