The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and other agencies have jointly put out the fire outbreak in the NNPC Filling Station, Fadeyi, Lagos.
A fire broke out at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Filling station on Thursday, causing a massive traffic gridlock in the vicinity. Residents called for immediate intervention from the fire service and other relevant emergency agencies.
Multiple videos circulating on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), show the fire burning intensely as concerned residents have taken to the platform to express their concerns and call for help.
One user, Softwallet, wrote: “URGENT! A fuel tanker is on fire near Fadeyi Bus Stop right now. #Lagos There’s traffic around that place, please the appropriate officials should be notified. Abeg oooo.”
Another resident, Emmy, pleaded: “Please help, NNPC filling station on fire in Fadeyi, we need firefighters.”
Another eyewitness, Ore, who tweets as -Oreoluwa-, adds, “Just passed there and just the one firefighter bus/tanker is there”
