LASEPA Releases Lagos Hazardous Air Quality Index

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has released its Air Quality Index, which ranked Agege and Surulere as cities with the most hazardous and unhealthy air quality in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Agege topped the list by scoring as high as 103% (Hazardous), indicating poor air quality for residents. Next on the list is Surulere, with a score of 76.1% (Very unhealthy).

Mushin, LAMATA Kosefe, Lagos Port at Apapa, Badagry, Moloney Street and Egbeda were also ranked poorly on the list.

Meanwhile, NIMET Oshodi, General Hospital Ikeja, and Lagos Island performed fairly well, with the air quality ranked moderate.

Only Lekki and LASEPA were ranked as cities with good air quality, scoring 10.1% and 7.65%, respectively.

The LASEPA mentioned that even though the air quality might not be ideal, it reassured the residents of Lagos that it is making continuous efforts to improve the air quality in the state.
