The newly inaugurated Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has threatened to commence demolition of illegal structures within the settlement.
Wike in his inaugural address at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) office on Monday, threatened total action against those who may be deforming the master plan of Abuja.
“All those people who are distorting the master plan of Abuja. Too bad. Too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down! If you know you have developed where you are not supposed to develop, your house must go down!
“Those who have taken over green areas to build, sorry, our plants must come back. If you hate green you must hate yourself,” the FCT Minister said.
He also said there was need to sit down and look at different ways of managing waste in the FCT, which he described as “very key.”
Wike is one of the 45 Ministers sworn into office Monday, August 21 by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
