Liberian Senator Chie Risks Expulsion from CDC

Former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Mosse Grey has revealed that Grand Kru County Senator Albert Chie faces expulsion from the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

Grey, a former Secretary General of the Congress for Democratic Change and a member of the Coalition for Democratic Change, stated that the party will expel Senator Chie because of the way he is portraying himself in the Liberian Senate as a member of the CDC Legislative Caucus.

Speaking on OK FM, former Representative Grey claimed that the previous Pro-Temp of the Liberian Senate is dancing with the ruling Unity Party.

Former Representative Gray’s statement that Senator Chie faces expulsion stemmed from his recent assessment of President Joseph Boakai’s ruling Unity Party.

Senator Chie’s grade of the current Unity Party-led government after 50 days in power is 80 percent.

Senator Chie’s rating of the Unity Party-led government, according to the former Secretary General of the Congress for Democratic Change, is a betrayal of the CDC that has yet to be shown in action.

This is not the first time that CDC executives and members have linked Senator Albert Chie to playing a double standard game with the CDC and Unity Party.

During the 2020 special senatorial elections and the 2023 parliamentary and presidential elections, several members of the CDC claimed that Senator Chie was aiding the opposition, which former President George Weah dismissed.

However, Grey told the media that his legislative role prompted him to expose former President Weah to the opposition at the time, which culminated in their defeat. According to him, such mistakes will no longer be tolerated at the CDC.
