Libya Kicks Off Covid-19 Public Vaccination

Libya has launched its National Vaccination Campaign against Corona Virus within Tripoli municipalities and other health centres with the elderly and healthcare workers given priority in the conflict-hit North African nation.

Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that 430 health facilities have been equipped throughout the country with all the health and media requirements for the campaign.

NCDC head, Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, stressed the importance of taking vaccination to protect citizens from this pandemic at a launch ceremony held at the Health and Care Centre in the Municipality of Tripoli.

The Commission also released the vaccination rollout with Astrazeneca vaccine for those above 70 years old that had registered on the online system

Also Sputnik V Vaccine for frontline personnel and those between the ages of 50-60 years who had registered on the online system

Meanwhile, the latest NCDC figures report that Libya had a total of 171,131 cases, with 156,344 recoveries, 11,905 active cases and 2,882 deaths from Coronavirus.
