Libya’s El-Sharara oilfield, has resumed production on Monday, according to the oilfield’s administration. It is the country’s largest.

The administration added in a statement aired on local media that “the first stages of pumping the general stock in from the field’s main pumping station to the Ras Lanuf oil port” had begun.

The oilfield said that its operation would raise Libya’s oil production to about 350,000 barrels per day.

On Sept. 18, Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar announced the lifting of a blockade from oil fields and facilities, including the Sharara oilfield, after a nine-month closure.

Last Thursday, the Libyan Central Bank said that the country’s losses because of the closure of oil facilities summed up to has been estimated to $10 billion.
