The Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani arrived at the accident scene where 22 mineworkers lost their lives. The accident occurred at R572 road between Venetia Mine and Musina, Sunday, September 18, 2023 at Vhembe District.
MEC Radzilani was accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Vhembe , Dowelani Nenguda, Mayor of Musina Local Municipality, Cllr Godfrey Mawela and the Senior General Manager at Venetia Mine, Ntokozo Ngema.
They established that a total of 22 Mineworkers perished as a result of the accident. The bus transporting the mineworkers belongs to the Hope Diamond Transport.
The entourage later proceeded to the Venetia Mine offices to get a full report regarding the incident.
