Liverpool took a giant leap towards securing the Premier League title with a dominant 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
The win, highlighted by Mohamed Salah’s brilliance, opened up an 11-point gap at the top of the table over second-placed Arsenal.
Salah scored his 30th goal of the season early in the game before setting up Dominik Szoboszlai for the second before halftime.
In a match that saw City miss the presence of Erling Haaland, they struggled to match Liverpool’s attacking prowess and defensive resilience.
The match began with a well-executed set piece from Alexis Mac Allister, whose corner was flicked by Szoboszlai to Salah, who saw his shot deflect past Ederson in the 14th minute.
City winger Jeremy Doku was skipping past Trent Alexander-Arnold at will, yet the Belgian consistently failed to deliver a telling cross or shot.

Salah was not so forgiving as he raced onto a long ball over the top and teed up Szoboszlai to wrong-foot Ederson.
City’s efforts to respond were hampered by missed opportunities and Liverpool’s tight defence. Despite creating chances, including a disallowed goal, City couldn’t find the breakthrough.
With Liverpool continuing to press after the break, they were unlucky not to add more goals as Szoboszlai came close again.
Meanwhile, City failed to capitalise on nearly 70% possession, with Omar Marmoush and Jeremy Doku offering little threat.
The result was a sobering one for Pep Guardiola’s men, now 20 points adrift from the leaders, as they face a tough battle to secure a Champions League spot.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are now set to add to their remarkable season, with a record of 25 goals and 16 assists from Salah.
