Lola Alao Recovers From COVID-19

The Yoruba Nollywood actress immediately thought to share her experience with her fans and followers on Instagram and Twitter. She explained her plight throughout the period she contacted the virus. She wrote and posted “ I tested positive to COVID-19 but I am fine now. To God be the glory. I was sick to the bone and couldn’t smell anything. I was scared because I had kids to take care of.

It’s no news that some Nigerians do not believe the reality of the virus as some even go ahead to troll government officials and refuse to adhere to instructions given by health officials especially since citizens who are struggling to earn a living and survive due to the lockdown, the daily complaints about the restrictions, and the challenges faced by businesses due to the lockdown, have caused many to trivialize the effects of the pandemic.

She went further to address those who are still in doubt about whether or not the COVID-19 virus is real. “You don’t ever want to imagine going into self-isolation and not seeing your loved ones. I don’t know what you must have heard about COVID-19 but I tell you today that it is way deadlier than you can ever think of. At this critical time when people are beginning to ignore the warnings against this virus, you can make a difference with your family members by being very conscious of the fact that it is still very much around”

The openness of celebrities about the deadly disease has made people take the precautionary measures more seriously, as there are real scenarios of people who have contracted the virus. The warning given by Lola is subtle reminder for one not to lose guard. Unlike what most citizens think, she advises them to keep safe with their families.

This means that even with the sudden ease in order for citizens to earn a living and possible resumption as earlier stated by the Lagos State government, Citizens should endeavor to take precautions. Make use of hand sanitizers, face masks and if anyone feels feverish in any way, he or she should immediately get tested.

For those who go around without properly social distancing, she writes “There is a thin line between life and death. COVID-19 is just around your corner. Stay safe, my people. I am writing this because I got a second chance to live. I tested positive to it, but I am fine now. To God be the glory”. Making it clear to fans, followers, citizens and even noncitizens that she is very well and there is no cause for alarm.

As much as government and health officials are doing all they can to ensure each state is safe and able to survive physically, emotionally, financially and even mentally, contributing their own quota, Lola Alao advises her fellow Nigerians to be patient, understanding and also cooperate with the government In order to reduce the widespread of the virus.
