The Egyptian Border Guard Force yesterday, foiled an attempt to smuggle into the country large quantities of arms, ammunition, and technical equipment through the Suez Canal.
The illegal consignment was carried by truck crossing the Suez Canal on a ferry, and it was concealed in barrels and covered with ice, as indicated by the Egyptian Armed Forces‘ press statement.
The seized items include 19 machine guns, 20 machine gun magazines, four FN machine guns, three rifle guns, two field glasses, and two sniper scopes. That is in addition to 15,627 bullets.
