Real Madrid 4-0 Celta Vigo Vinicius Jr Strikes as Ancelotti's Men Extend La Liga Lead to Seven Points

Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season by the governing body’s technical observer panel.

The Brazilian played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s victorious campaign, scoring six goals and providing five assists in ten matches. He capped a sensational season with the second goal in the final win over Borussia Dortmund, securing his second Champions League title with the club.

He expressed his gratitude and joy following the final held at Wembley. “I’m very happy to be able to win another Champions League with this club, which has given me so much,” the Brazilian international said. “It’s an incredible thing. Not everyone can experience it and win it so many times.”

In addition to Vinicius’s accolade, Real Madrid’s midfield star Jude Bellingham was named the competition’s Best Young Player. The 20-year-old England international made a significant impact with four goals and five assists in eleven appearances.

Last week, Bellingham was voted as the La Liga Player of the Year, beating his teammate, Vinicius to second place after a sensational debut season in Spain where he scored 19 goals.

The Goal of the Season award also went to a Real Madrid player, with Federico Valverde’s stunning late volley against Manchester City in the quarter-finals taking the prize. The goal, which came off an assist from Vinicius, was crucial in securing a 3-3 draw for Real Madrid, who eventually triumphed in the tie through penalties.
