Nigerian man Babajide Israel was recently acknowledged by Guinness World Records for his outstanding twerking prowess.

The 3 hours and 30 minute session that broke the record was held in Lagos on January 14, 2024.

Babajide saw personal value in this accomplishment since it forced him to venture outside of his comfort zone and promoted mental health awareness.

According to Babajide, he wants to show that any accomplishment is achievable, no matter how big or how special it is.

Reactions to his accomplishment on social media have been mixed, with some applauding his commitment and others expressing surprise at the record’s nature.

    See photos below:

Fola David, a Nigerian doctor and hyper-realism artist, just achieved a new Guinness World Record for the largest drawing by a single individual.

The Lagos-based visual artist began the six-day project on July 16 at Onikan Stadium with the goal of sketching 1000 square metres of art to highlight Nigeria’s numerous cultural traditions.

On Friday night, in a now-trending social media post, he wrote:

“Congratulations to us all. On Day 4 at 9 p.m., we beat the current record of 629.98 square metres, but we’re not finished! The goal is to cover over 1000 square metres of canvas with drawings; we are now at 689 square metres. “Let’s go!”

Prominent Nigerians who have visited David include Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential contender; Hilda Baci, the previous GWR winner; and Farooq Oreagba, the businessman who commanded attention at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, to name a few.

David is a graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), and the administration paid him a visit to show their support.
