RB Leipzig have dismissed coach Marco Rose just days before their German Cup semi-final clash against Stuttgart, following a string of disappointing results.
The club announced the decision on Sunday, citing the need for a fresh approach to secure their goals for the remainder of the season.
Despite leading Leipzig to a German Cup win and third place in the Bundesliga during his first season in charge, Rose’s tenure has been marred by inconsistent performances this season.
After a 1-0 loss at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday, Leipzig slipped to sixth in the table, now three points adrift of a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.

The club has appointed Zsolt Low, who has previously worked as an assistant at Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, as interim coach until the end of the season.
Sporting director Marcel Schaefer expressed confidence in the change, stating that a new direction was necessary to turn the season around.
Rose, who took over in September 2022, was under contract until 2026 but failed to inspire a sustained push for top honours, with Leipzig also failing to make it past the group stages of this season’s Champions League.
The club’s next focus will be Wednesday’s German Cup semi-final.
