In a recent lawsuit, Mark Zuckerberg and other Meta Platforms Inc. executives and directors are charged with not doing enough to stop child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking on Facebook and Instagram.
By ignoring systemic evidence of criminal activity, Meta’s leadership and board have allegedly failed to protect the interests of the company and shareholders, according to the complaint recently made public by a number of pension and investment funds that own Meta stock.
According to the billionaire co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, child exploitation is one of the most serious threats that they focus on.
Separately, Meta is facing hundreds of lawsuits from parents of young children and teenagers who claim their use of Facebook and Instagram caused them to develop mental health issues. In relation to the issue, some schools have also filed lawsuits.
