Phyllis Migwi has been named the Country Manager for Kenya by international technology giant Microsoft. She replaces Kendi Ntwiga, who departed for a role as the Global Head of Misrepresentation at Meta.
Migwi is committed about delivering effective business models, growth strategies, and ecosystem value creation, claims Microsoft.
“I am delighted to welcome Phyllis to the Microsoft Africa Regional Cluster team as the new Kenya Country Manager,” said Wael Elkabbany, Africa Regional Cluster General Manager.
“I am confident that her extensive experience in Technology in Africa will help us scale partner and customer business impact through the value of Microsoft Cloud. As a strong advocate of Africa’s potential, I believe that Phyllis is a critical addition in unlocking the unique opportunities on the continent.”
Microsoft describes Phyllis as a business catalyst and leader who has fostered technological advancement for the past 20 years.
She has gained expertise in brand creation, marketing, program management, and leadership in strategy and operations.
Phyllis worked for IBM as the Regional Hybrid Cloud & AI Leader-Africa Growth Market before joining Microsoft. She has also held executive positions in the information technology and fast-moving consumer goods industries in India, Europe, Africa, and North America.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Catholic University of East Africa and an MBA from Hult International Business School.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to play my part in Africa’s economic growth story. To position Microsoft as the premier partner for that growth, while developing the leaders who will overcome present challenges and build memorials for the future,” said Phyllis.
One of the major employers in Kenya is Microsoft. It has been on a hiring binge, bringing in some of the best software engineering talent in the nation.
Other large firms, like Google, that have innovation hubs in Kenya have also adopted the strategy.
