Microsoft has announced intentions to invest $1 million over the next two years to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence skills for one million Nigerians, fostering digital innovation and economic empowerment.
Ola Williams, Microsoft’s Country Manager for Nigeria, stated this on Wednesday at the start of the Microsoft AI tour in Lagos.

“This is a strategic investment to ensure that Nigerians have access to the critical skills needed not just to use AI but to develop cutting-edge solutions and build AI-driven businesses that provide sustainable livelihoods,” Williams told reporters.
She emphasised that the programme aims to establish Nigeria as a vital player in the global AI ecosystem by providing people with the skills needed to use AI for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic competitiveness.
