Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has assured Nigerians that they can expect continued interventions by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during national holidays. He stated that the 50 percent reduction in the cost of road transportation for this year’s Yuletide season is not a one-time intervention but part of ongoing measures by President Tinubu.
Speaking during the briefing of the Inter-Ministerial Presidential Committee on Presidential Interventions on the cost of public transportation for the 2023 Yuletide season on Wednesday, Minister Idris emphasised that the announced reduction aims to alleviate the cost of transportation during the Christmas period.
“I just want to add that this is part of the measures that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu intends to be doing, this is not a one-off thing, and even though this is targeted at Christmas, the President will continue to review situations, especially national holidays like this, and see what kind of interventions can come subsequently going forward,” he added.
