 Minor Earth Tremor with Magnitude 3.2 Hits Mezzouna in Tunisia

On January 29, 2024, at 05:44 a.m. (local time), a minor earth tremor measuring 3.2 degrees on the Richter scale occurred in Mezzouna, situated in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, as reported by the National Institute of Meteorology (INM).

Preliminary analyses from the INM’s seismological stations revealed that the epicenter of the tremor was located at 34.47 degrees latitude and 9.88 degrees longitude, southeast of Mezzouna. Authorities are monitoring the situation, and no significant damage has been reported thus far.
